The Department of Commerce was established in the year 1966 with 03 teachers and about 60 students. Over a period of 56 years, in the year 2019 M.Com course has been started. The department has grown from strength to strength and now has 5 full time faculties and 126 students. Out of the 5 staff members, 2 have obtained PhD, Degrees, 1 are finishing M. Phil’s degree and one are eligible for K-SET. The department has organized special lecture, workshops, seminars, the faculty of the department consistently encourages the students to participate in sports, NSS, NCC and other extracurricular activities. Department has having full fledged computer lab, the department adopted and made use of the Information Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching techniques effectively. There is academic flexibility in vertical growth of students’ community to join for M.Com, courses in our own college.

Certification Programme on Tally with GST (ERP 9) The Certification programme is offered by Tally with GST in collaboration with Tally Academy Centre, Gadag for selected B.Com and M.Com students. The programme is part of curriculum with an objective to impart practical training on Tally with GST (ERP 9).

Industrial Visits and Field Visits for B.Com Students

The departments organize experiential learning programmes on 27 th February 2020. The first year B.Com students, faculty members and principal went for an Lakshmi Mineral waters industries visit in Totaganti Village, Gajendra taluk. They are manufacturers, the production process could be seen at the industry as well as an interaction with the officials were made possible. Students got an exposure towards industry. As for as commerce students are concerned, industrial visits provide them a practical side of the theories they studied.
